I usually don't take the initiative to be the first one to do something, but as the Lord is moving me into a new season of my life, I thought 'Why not try something new?' Step out a little more and break out of my comfort zone.

My name is Brent Hamilton. I come from small town Georgia, although I live in a bigger town now than I did most of my life. I was born in Honolulu Hawaii, we lived there for a little less than two years after I was born, and then we moved to Georgia compliments of the U.S. Air Force.

Most of the 16 years I've lived in Georgia were spent in a little dot on the map town named Roberta. It was the one that no one had heard of, and most people in the county didn't even know there was a house back in the woods where we lived. I have been homeschooled my whole life, but don't let that fool you into thinking I'm not a social person. I am very much a people person, although I can be a little reserved at times.

I love athletics.. I play basketball and have recently been really getting into soccer.. if it involves running I probably like it!

I'm addicted to God.. I love His presence, and I love spending time with Him in prayer and in His word. some pople call me crazy, I call it love..

I love music. Period. I am a musician, I play the guitar, the mandolin, and I'm recently picking up the harmonica. I love music of many different types, from Indie to Folk to techno and dubstep to hard rock and hardcore.. and everything in between. I also really enjoy world music, particularly Peruvian and African.

The Lord has been doing incredible things in my life, not the least of which is totally changing the direction of my life. For most of my life I was set on going into the Marines, and my life goal was to finish high school as fast as possible so I could enlist. But God grabbed hold of my heart and challenged me to drastically rethink all of my plans. I felt the call to world missions about a year ago. And i'm not referring to just a one time "Go on this mission trip" call. God has a lifelong call on my life for world missions and evangelism. I was praying about what to do with my life, and the Lord layed Africa on my heart. I told mom about it, and she was naturally a little frightened, but also really excited that God had told me this.

The next day a missionary was speaking at our church, and he asked a man to go with him on his forthcoming trip to West Africa. We shot him an email and told him what had been happening with me, and whether or not he would take a (then) 17 year old to Africa with him. He said he would be delighted to have me on the trip, but I had less than a month to get all my shots, my passport, my visas and other documentation.

The Lord worked miracles even before I left, and I was able to go to Mali and Burkina Faso, and witness God do all kinds of amazing things, not the least of which by far was the planting of a new Christian church with 100 + members in a Muslim area!

It was a great experience, and one that really whetted my appetite for the things of God. He has been so faithful in my life, and I am so excited to grow in intimacy with my Lord and Father,  and get to reach out to the world with the Father's love. What a beautiful thing to get to be a living re-presentation of the Father's love for the world!
